Hundred River Farm is nestled within the Waveney Valley environmentally sensitive area near Beccles in Suffolk.

The natural beauty, rich wildlife and endless opportunities for learning provide the perfect setting for our workshops, activities and events. We are guided by our core values to offer experiences built around enjoying the outdoors through a variety of projects and seasonal activities.

After numerous requests from our visitors to our maze we decided to embark on a journey to deliver regular sessions all year round for a variety of groups and families – see details of our upcoming activities and sessions. Unlike traditional care farms we specialise in working with families and groups of children such as school or youth groups, as well as offering tailored personalised sessions.

As part of the Sotterley Estate this small dairy farm has been managed by our family since the 60’s. In 2009, with the milk industry on the verge of collapse, we decided to venture into producing all natural ice-cream, yoghurt, milk and cream. The following year we also launched Hundred River Maze where we offer a variety of activities for families over the holidays alongside the maze challenge (themed on UK wildlife) and animal corner.

The farm comprises half water meadows and traditional marsh, with Hereford cattle enjoying an outdoor life quietly grazing the herb rich meadow pastures. Our beef is hung for at least 23 days which creates our traditional full flavoured cuts of beef. Exclusively available to purchase at Beccles Farmers Market.

We are hoping that once our new gardens and facilities are prepared, we’ll be able to plant our own orchard and build wooden enclosures so we can look after some rescued owls through our partnership with Fritton Owl Sanctuary.
